SIX WORD SATURDAY

Six Word Saturday is a weekly meme hosted by Show My Face. Want to play along? All that's necessary to participate is to describe your life (or something) in a phrase using just six words. For more information, try clicking here. Feel free to explain or not explain. Add an image, a video, a song, nothing.
Post your six words, then link back to Show My Face and hop around to visit other Six Word Saturdays!

My words this week are:

WARM SUNNY WEEKEND. NOT ON CALL!

So I feel blessed this weekend. The snow has melted and I can see my driveway again. This shouldn't be such a big deal in Kentucky in March, but there you go. In a little while I'm going to take a walk to Starbucks. Life is good.

It's been a busy, busy couple of weeks. I've only read one book and that one is to review for the Historical Novels Review, so I've been slacking off on blogging. Two weeks ago, I took my daughter up to Toronto to look at the University. What an adventure! It was great to have some mother-daughter time, but it brings home even more acutely the awareness of how soon she'll be leaving home.

I'm not sure how much reading I'll get done this weekend. I'm a little bored with sitting on my couch under a blanket with my space heater running. I'm going to have to get outside. Can it finally be spring?

  5. Spring? What is this "Spring" of which you speak?

  6. Ah, snow. That's the white, fluffy stuff that falls from the sky? I've lived in Southern California my whole life. Whenever I tell someone that I want to live somewhere it snows, they look at me like I'm crazy. But I truly do want to experience it. Enjoy the sun!

  7. We had Spring last week! Seem to have lost it again temporarily (I hope!)
Toronto will be an exciting place for your daughter but it's a scary step for you :)

  10. Hi Susan ~~ I am sorry I am late to return your last weeks Six Word Saturday nice comment you left me (my post was about using the campaign literature to pick up dog vomit from the rug).

It is fun, in a serious way, to get to take the kids to colleges for visiting. That started with me way back when the 56-year-olds went to Rice U. here (Houston) for a twin study. They were six and it lasted almost two years. Now one has a Master's from Rice.

It doesn't end, we took the other kids and now grand-daughters around. The youngest is having almost college entry requirements for kindergarten this year. Of course Grandpa wants her in first grade (she reads, is good with math, knows 75% of the common speaking vocabulary and uses them--she amazed her Sunday school teacher her while visiting when the lesson about dry bones in the desert, then casualy asked if anyone knew how many bones were in the human body, when the GD timidly whispered to the teacher, "206"--et al.
