I read...Ah, <i>The Vindication of the Rights of Women</i>! I read that (mumble, mumble) years ago when I was in my "history of feminism" phase and reading all the classics such as Abigail Adams' "remember the ladies" letter to Simone de Beauvoir's <i>The Second Sex</i>. I don't remember my reaction to it, but it wouldn't surprise me if I found it meandering. A lot of male philosophers of the time were similarly boring. Interesting fact: Mary Wollstonecraft is the mother of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, the author of <i>Frankenstein</i>. She died eleven days after giving birth to her daughter.
